The First Appointment
What to expect on the first visit?
The purpose of the initial visit is to determine what the symptoms are and whether they can be remedied through chiropractic treatment.
You will be asked in advance to fill out an intake form regarding your medical history.
When you are in the consultation room, we will first take an anamnesis. This involves discussing relevant complaints that run in the family, your own medical history and your (living) habits. It is also important for us to know if you have already received medical attention elsewhere.
This is followed by physical examinations, including orthopedic, chiropractic and neurological examinations. In addition, your posture will be checked. If necessary, you may be referred for additional testing, such as an X-ray or MRI scan.
Based on the intake interview and physical examination, it will become clear what the cause of your complaint(s) is and how many treatments are needed for best results. If it appears that we can help you, we can start treatment on the same day. If we cannot help you, you will be referred to another appropriate specialist.
